Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
